Lifehouse

Hello y'all!

I must admit, Court, I am a fan of the yellow. It's just so sunshiny bright and all that jazz. So here's the Lishka update:

This week has been a rough one. I think everything just kinda crashed and I had some not so good nights this week. Several late ones and feelings of being overwhelmed. But now it's Friday and everything is all good. Lol, I live for the weekends and for time to just sit and think. Or read for pleasure. I haven't done that in weeks, and I think after I write this I'm going to go make myself some lunch and then sit and read until I have to go to math class. It will be nice. Oh, I can't remember what I last put in here, but I kicked ass on my ochem test: a 98 baby! I was so happy, it like made my day. But now things are starting to get harder in there so I definitely need to keep on top of it. I actually like my Spanish class, we write a bunch of short papers and I find class interesting, so I don't watch the clock, it's rather pleasant.

Last weekend I saw two concerts: Lifehouse and Blessid Union of Souls. They were awesome. That guy who is the lead singer for Lifehouse is incredibly good looking. Makes me want a guy who will write songs and profess his love to me through the guitar. Oh I'm in love. Lol, I'm taking applications so if any of you know of a guy like that, let me know!

Oh and good news, I made AB Site Leader! yay! I can't remember if I already said that or not, but tomorrow I'm going some teambuilding camp all day and then Monday or Tuesday I'll find out who my partner is and where I'm going. So exciting.

The weather the past couple days has been absolutely gorgeous, just the right temp, so I'm going to make a sandwich and sit on my balcony! Love you all!

Lishka :)

Yes, I did change the color... it is not puke yellow... it is a pretty sunshiney yellow, thank you very much and if you don't like it you can change it yourself!!!!

Gah, today has been uncool and I'm angry at my Irish lit prof who didn't tell me she didn't like the way I cited things until my final draft when I turned in a first draft to her. And she fricking hated where I put my page numbers and flipped out about it not being MLA standard, well she can bite me because I have a frigging W and that prof (head of the English Department) had no problem with my page numbers being bottom center! And I think he knows slightly more than her two years out of grad school. GRR.

Have a nice day all.

Ok who chose to make the background funky, puke-yellow? (*cough cough* Courtney!)

Ummm...my fall break is the same as Courters! The 15th-23rd of October, although I'll be coming home late for break and going back early because we have home football weekends on either side of break, which kinda stinks, but is also kind of nice....no pressure football games....we have like five in a row starting with fall break which is craziness!!!

Alright loves, I need to go to sleep...I have a test tomorrow morning and I need to actuallly start sleeping before them or else my brain will never function.

Although this is my quote of the day: "Sleep? Pshaw......Sleep is for mere mortals!"

haha!! Love you all!

Ride Otto Ride! (Adventures of Otto)
By David Milgrim

Hiya everybody!!

I just got the journal today! I am so excited but I will not read it before I have written, I swear. Things have been crazy fun around here. Friday night was informal and we went bowling. My team was the QueenPins and we wore matching pink polos, skirts, and tiaras... too much fun. Then Saturday night Joe Hake came to visit with two of his friends; it is so much fun when people come to visit. Anyway, I am posting to tell you all when my breaks are and if you could do the same (I think Andrea requested this earlier too) that would rock my socks!

My fall break is October 15 - October 23
My Christmas break is December 13-ish - January 5

Yay, I can't wait until fall break...and my birthday which is like a week away... gosh, us October girls are going to be 20! That's so weird....

All my chronicling love,

Wow...Shannon's most recent posting just blew my mind. Many of you girls are gonna be 20 soon! I know that I have been this old for a few months, but it takes me by surprise everytime I think about it.

I miss you girls so much! I have been crazy busy in the past two weeks. I would like to be able to talk to you soon. D-port and Monica- can I have your cell phone numbers? Let me know if any of you are going on a road trip to visit each other. I would love to come! Also, feel free to come visit here. You are always welcome.

Well, this week has been the most stressful (but most satisfying) one yet. I had two papers due and my first big speech to give on Friday. Besides the whole fear of speaking in public thing, speech is incredibly difficult bc the prof is so picky. After getting into the speech, I wasn't nervous at all. I spoke about studying abroad in college, and my classmates actually seemed interested. I'll see how I did on Monday. (Thanks for the help Court!)

To top off the week, Cliff came to visit me!!! I was't sure if he was going to make it, but he got a ride with Brandon Hilts (very cool guy). Over the weekend, we did the usual: play pool, go to Old Spaghetti Factory/Denny's, talk into the early hours of morning and then decide we should get some sleep. Now that I think about it, maybe it isn't my age that takes me by surprise but rather what comes with it....preparing for a graduation, career, marriage. There. I said the "m" word. For so long getting married seemed so far away. Cliff and I were seriously thinking about it a lot this weekend. Now, I don't plan on getting engaged anytime soon, but now I can just think someday...

Well, I hope I didn't bore you with the mushy stuff, but I had to tell someone. I love you all, and I cant wait to see you again!

Love Always, Andrea

Hi all! I have no excuses for my lack of xanga entries, because this week has been pretty easy. It was GREAT, especially since last week was sooooo crazy! I has sorority recruitment for 8 straight days and on top of that an ISOM test, which i got a 72 on and, i am getting sick. Friday night at rush i almost passed out and had to run into our suite kitchen and sit down on a cooler for 40 miunutes. I was crying and i felt awful. It sucked. But, that week is over, and DZ now has 23 new and awesome baby turtles! They are all really sweet girls so we are very happy with that, plus the fact that we made quota, plus one! So this week I have been taking it pretty easy. I had a chem test yesterday, which i think went pretty well. Next week i have a paper due, and my first econ test, which i am so scared about that i have gone into shock and therefore im feeling ok, cause i am feeling pretty numb about it . Oh well.

My fall break it Oct 22-25. It sounds like most of you have it the week before, but if you will be in town those days, let me know. I really like andreas idea about all of us meeting somewhere one weekend. We should definately try to arrange it. I am going to zionsville for the night friday to see my dad, which is exciting since its only the second weekend ive had so far this year where i have been able to get away. The soroity keeps me sooo busy. I am also getting pumped up for my visit to ND in October! (get ready monica, it'll be fun!) I wanna come visit everyone else sometime too, lemme know and we can try to find a weekend with no DZ events! Between this semester and next I hope to visit more of you. And remember, it is almost birthday season! I am excited for my 20th, tho i am pretty sure i have a chem test the next day. Sigh. Thats life. Any more news to share...........mmm, dont think so........Tylers super as always, he gave me flowers last weekend when i was feeling so crummy . Well, i think thats all for now. I love you guys, and i miss you so much!

Shannon
This is Lishka saying "hola!" and I hope you all are surviving the week! :)

Oh, and I think I kicked some butt oh my ochem test. Monica, you should come to Xavier, things aren't as difficult here. :) Course I'd love to be at Notre Dame, so maybe we should just split ourselves down the middle and live a double existance. That would be cool.

Tomorrow is Friday, hooray for that, but boo for a busy weekend.

I find out at some point today or tomorrow whether or not I'm a site leader for AB...so keep your fingers crossed!

It's really sunny and warm here. I'm actually kinda hoping that it cools down soon.

Met another kid from Loyola University in New Orleans who's here for a semester. He's a nice guy. Go Jesuits in taking in students and honoring their scholarships even though our semester had already started. I heard lots of schools were turning them away. We've got about 25 of them here I think.

Um, what else? Oh, we got our butts kicked in my softball games last saturday, but that's okay, it was fun, and we get to try again this Saturday.

I've been hanging out a lot more with nice boys as opposed to crazy ones. I think I'm over "said boy", the one I would talk about all summer long. Haven't seen him much. But when I do it's just like old times. Bah.

Oh, and Court, be on the lookout for the journal, I'll probably mail it Saturday.

Love you all and miss you bunches! Take care!

Lishka :)

Oh, and edit:

Would anyone like to claim the entry right below this one? You didn't leave a name. :)

Gosh, I love you guys so much. I miss you all so incredibly much. I've finally gotten to where I have friends here in the house but whenever I talk to them I talk so much about you guys. It makes me miss you more. I want to see you all and hang out and talk and everything. It's so funny there are people here who remind me of you guys... like I just saw two of the seniors wearing blankets as capes and running around the halls.... then there's a junior who says really random things... but not quite like you Klink, she's a lot drier. Anyway, I hope you all know that I love you and that I'm sorry I haven't talked to any of you (except Licia) in forever. Call me if you ever need anything, I try to remember to have my cell phone with me when I go places. Or IM me. Monica, get back on yahoo, I definitely left you fun messages there last week. I know I'm never around on AIM, it's because there's a guy from Wabash who wants to go on a date with me and I don't want to be mean but he just creeps me out. Anyway, I'll get up the nerve to clear it up and then I'll be around more I think.... that is if my homework clears up a bit. Homework is my life and it's all papers and reading. In case it interests anyone, I quit orchestra here. I wasn't having fun anymore; I don't need to credits; and I felt it was stressing me out and keeping me from doing the kinds of community service I wanted to do. So now I'm tutoring on Wednesdays with a program called French Enrichment where we teach little kids little bits of French... and I'm going to start doing IRC (Indiana Reading Corp) soon.

Hey dearest friends!

I'm so glad that everybody is actively posting....I however have been unable to even think about looking at this site.....I've had the worst week of my life....It started out really well because I got my first paper of the year back and received an A. (hooray!!) But then I just had my huge organic chemistry test today and I studied so hard for it all week....and I failed it. Not only is it my first test at this University, but it's also the first (and easiest) exam of this class. I've basically just dug a hole for myself and I have no idea how I"m going to pull myself out of it. Naturally, I'm very depressed. I feel like I've had a major ego crash......I know I"m smarter than this......this didn't need to happen. I really studied my brains out for this test....I don't know what went wrong. I knew this shit. Oh well. I'll do better next time...hopefully. Or I'll just flunk out and become a PLS major. haha....no I would never do that.

Alicia, I'm sorry to hear that you're not having the greatest time at Xavier. Anytime you need to talk to me about anything, please feel free to IM me or call. I'm always willing to help.

Courtney, I'm glad to hear you're having such a great time in your delta gamma sorority....that's amazing that you're gone to being so much more happier this year than last year....I'm so glad. You needed that.

Elyssa, I hope you're enjoying your classes and that you and your roomie are still having the bestest time together!!! I'm sorry I really haven't had the chance to talk with you much this year so far....we're just going to have to do a lot of catching up over fall break!

D-Port....I just noticed that you divorced Joe Hake on the facebook. Or was it the other way around? I was never able to keep up with your soap opera lifestyle.....just kidding. I hope you're having a blast at the Dale!

Klinker.....geez I miss your pointless stories!! You need to start sending those again. Those always brightened my day! Or you could just post them here. I'd try to come up with a few of my own, but I think that's a purely Klinker talent.

Andrea.....I'm glad to hear you're doing well and that you were able to help Cliff settle in alright. He's closer this year! So you''ll be able to spend a lot of much needed time together. That's so great that you have such a wonderful guy in your life....but he's especially to have such a lovely girl to hang out with. I love you and miss you soooo much. Come play with my siblings over fall break!

Shannon......I'm bummed that you might not be able to make it to ND this semester. that's ok....we'll find another time to drive around South Bend without our headlights on at two o'clock in the morning....haha....smashing good times that was. Come visit soon! I miss you and miss how we are both ten times busier than last year and aren't able to talk everyday on the IM.

Anyways.....I love you all and miss you dearly. Come visit if you like.....if I haven't flunked out. We'll see!!!

Love, forever and always,

Monica
"And friends are friends forever
If the lord’s the lord of them
And a friend will not say never
’cause the welcome will not end
Though it’s hard to let you go
In the father’s hands we know
That a lifetime’s not too long to live as friends."

Cheesy and totally overplayed song, I know, but it's true. Dport, thanks for coming to my rescue today in my somewhat disguised call of distress. Your phone call definitely made me feel better. All these silly boys that come and go in our lives, we might get close to some of them, but they can never ever take the place of you girls. Cause I'll always be there when you need me, and I know you'll do the same for me. So yeah, things here at Xavier aren't the greatest right now, but it'll pass. I think I just need to slow down and take time to actually appreciate the little things in life.

But to bed I go. Physics test in the morning. Oh boy! Love you all!

Hola mis amigas!

So yeah, kudos to Court for coming up with this, I think it's brilliant!

Things are going well. I've been running around crazy nuts busy, and it doesn't seem like it is going to let up any time soon. I have a "datebook" and I have to use it. Nuts. I've already hit time conflicts, like today when I'm trying to switch one of my classes (diversity class, just one weekend long) to a different one because it conflicts with something to be an Alternative Breaks Site Leader. And that, by the way, I am so psyched about. Remember when I went to Colorado last year? I'd be doing something like that again, but a different place, and me and one other person would be leading it. I've had about three people come up to me (site leaders before) and say that had recommended me, as well as the President of the club who said I made his day when I told him I was going to apply. Which is awesome because it means I'll be more likely to get the trip I want (International baby! Like Ukraine, El Salvador, Mexico, or the Dominican Republic). So that is very exciting stuff.

Classes are alright. Is it sick that I actually like my calc 3 class? Oh and my ochem professor is absolutely captivating. Mezmerizing (sp?) and all that jazz. I just hope his tests aren't hard, but he is an awesome lecturer. I actually like my spanish class this semester as well, so that is good. Though I had to write a paragraph about llamas yesterday. Strange, I know!

I hate boys. Though there is one that I have my eye on, though I don't think he's interested in me. He is definitely attainable though, like not out of my league or a jerk or anything. So yeah, who knows. I wish I had a boy like Monica's boy! :) haha

So can anyone attest to exactly who has the journal at the moment? I want it. :)

I love you all and miss you lots! I hope all is well!

Alicia

Hey girls!

I can't write long as I just figured out how to post cuz i just checked my e-mail, but life here is going great. My freshman are awesome and just a lot of fun. I'm having a program tonight, it's a door deck making party...we're using apple prints (take the apple half, put red paint on it, apply to paper), it will be fun and a lot of my girls are coming. I talked to some camp people last night, which was awesome, i miss them. I also miss you lot! I've been gone almost four weeks! it's crazy. I'm going home for labor day though, so that will be fun, if anyone else is going to be home, let me know!! Umm...i have so much to tell about being an RA and classes and what-not, but alas i must head over to the chapel for mass...I can't wait to hear from you all again! (and maybe see some of you this weekend?) Court- this was an absolutely awesome idea. The site looks awesome and i feel like we're some awesome mysterious group...which as shannon pointed out to me on-line, we kinda are! This will be a great way of keeping in touch though and I love it...it's my homepage . Talk to you all soon and i'll post again soon for the full update! I love you all!!

It's My Life, Pt.2
By Bon Jovi

Hello Darlings!

I should be in bed right now, as I'm suffering from a severe head cold combined with allergies. But I'm not, because I wanted to post here! So let's see......things are going well here, except for the fact that I have had this before mentioned disease hanging over my head for the past four days. I'm loving ND. It is the greatest place to go to school as far as I'm concerned. Even when I'm studying, I don't feel like it's work. It's really weird.....I'm really enjoying it. Not a day goes by when I don't thank God for sending me here....It has been truly magnificent so far.

You know what else is truly magnificent? Being able to see the guy I love every single day! How neato is that? I swear that my love for Paul has only deepened these past two weeks.....he's honestly the best boyfriend anyone could ever ask for. And he keeps getting better. Especially these past few days....he's been taking care of me while I'm sick: Giving me medicine, making sure I get enough rest, stealing my organic chemistry textbook so I don't attempt to study instead of resting.....etc... Tonight was sweet: I went over to his dorm to do a little homework before we both headed off to mass at 10...and my voice was strained, my eyes were watering and my nose was running. I looked like a rat that had gotten caught in a hurricane (speaking of hurricanes....that hurricane down in New Orleans sounds freaky!!) At any rate, I was feeling gross and very germy. Anyway, he was walking me back to my dorm and he remarked on how he thought it was funny that I refused to shake anybody's hand during the sign of peace at mass that night. I replied that it was because I didn't want to infect anyone with my vicious disease. Then I informed him that he probably shouldn't be standing so close to me, as I was very contagious. Instead of heeding my advice, he grabs my hand, pulls me close, and hugs me while saying: "I don't care." Isn't he a dear? I'm sorry....I'm just totally in love with the guy, and you all are probably so sick of me rambling on about him.....the thing is that I know he really cares for me when I look at him. He just has that look.....it's not an infatuation or a random crush. I really feel that there is something very special between us.....even if we do part eventually, I feel that there always will be a special bond between us. Crazy.

Anyway, I'm so psyched about this xanga site....and you'll probably find me posting here often! Ummm....don't let anyone else read the crap I just wrote above!

Love you all!!

OK girls, this is how it is. I am starting this because I think that perhaps this might just work to our advantage. If you want to post every day, fine; if you want to post once every 6 months, that's cool too. But I thought this would an effective method to keep up to date... you don't have to write interesting things, you can just post links you think we will find amusing, tell us random storie (Klinks), or anything. This will also be a way to know where the journal is (ie if you have it just post that you have it and when you will be sending it). You don't have to write like in the journal or anything, just do what you will and no pressure. Just please remember I love you and keep in touch.

All my Chronicling love,
Court
