Hi girls,
I, finally, just today got myself into the blogger, which is why I haven't posted anything for months on this site. I am doing all right. I probably have no reason at all to say this but I just feel like I haven't been a good friend in keeping touch with everyone. I guess for me I like chatting through email, facebook and texts. Of course I do chat through my phone but I don't always prefer it. With my dad's passing, communicating on the phone seems to be hard for me right now. I don't know why. I just want you girls to know that even if I don't talk with you on the phone that much, I'm thinking about you and hoping that you are doing good. I'm trying to be better.
Work is going fine. I have been helping with ISTEP that was all of this week and ends this Wednesday. So it's been nice to make a little extra money. First grade is as busy as ever. Nothing too much new going on. Just doing my same work duties each day: teaching a math power club to the high, middle or low students, helping a fifth grade class with their math 3 days a week and a fourth grade class with their reading skills two days a week while the first grade is at their special, leading 3 different reading groups (Level D,F,G). The students read a story and then they complete activities that connect with the story. Lastly I work with two different groups of students on areas that are in need of improvement. Subtraction has been the key focus for a while now. I am working on updating my resume and getting that ready to send out to schools this summer. I am hoping for a teaching job next year, but I am very hesitant as well to see what jobs are going to be available.
Jordan just ended his third week at his new job: The Ecolab plant in Huntington. He got hired for third shift as a lab technician-checking the medical soaps, detergents, etc. that they make. He started out on first shift and this week is doing second shift and I then I suppose in about two weeks or so will begin on third shift. He is very happy, so far, with this job and likes it so much better than Unilever. I am glad that he is happy also and plus his work is about a 5-6 minute walk from our house, so he will be a lot closer..which makes me feel better.
I hope everyone is doing well and again I'm really sorry for not staying in better contact with each of you. I feel really bad :( I'm going to try harder. I miss you all and wish I could see you.
Love,
Lyss
