My roommate and I have taken the step toward caring for another living being. We got a fish yesterday. Neither of us really wanted a fish but our friend gave us a teacup shaped fishbowl as a housewarming gift and so we needed a fish to be swimming in it before she comes to visit this weekend. We decided its a he. His name is Manakeesh. Five points and a free manakeesh to the first person who knows what this is.
The whole Muncie crew is coming this weekend including Jacob and the girlfriend. I am pretty much making my peace with the situation and feel happy to have them coming. So assuming no meltdowns this weekend that I don't see coming, I think it will be fine. Funny story actually:
So Amy told Jacob that there wasn't really room for his gf to stay at our apt. He said saturday was one of her rare days off and we agreed she was welcome to come. So amy told him it was fine, the gf could come, not a problem. I sent all of our guests including the gf facebook messages saying we were happy to have them visit and asking what they wanted to do this weekend. Well apparently the gf didn't know she was invited to our apt until she got that message. Apparently Jacob felt we didn't want her to come and so he didn't invite her. And he told her that. But all is fine now, everyone is coming and the gf knows that Amy and I are fine with her visiting and that her bf is a doofus.
Oh that reminds me of another funny story...though this won't mean as much to you girls:
So Jacob is good friends with our friend Kyle. Kyle is gay and Jocob is not. They both went to a wedding a few weeks ago that Amy was in. Amy's friend told her later that her young cousin thought Amy was cute. He referred to her as "the one in the wedding that was hanging out with the gay couple." Amy is looking forward to letting Jacob and Kyle know this when they visit this weekend. When she told me I laughed harder than I had in weeks.
