Greetings from Evansville, Indiana

Hiya girlies,

I hope everyone is doing well. Things have been busy busy around here so I'm sorry to those who have tried to call that I haven't called back I promise you will get a call from me today or tomorrow.

We have moved into a lovely apartment downtown Evansville, I'll send you all an email with the address and probably take some pictures when we get furniture. It's in a big old house and we have basically the entire front corner of the house, both first and second floors. It's big and has a really pretty spiral staircase connecting the first and second floors. The cats aren't super happy about that, but they've gotten used to it after only 4 days of being in there. We moved our stuff in on Sunday last week but didn't move ourselves and the cats in until Tuesday night.

I'm still getting used to this working 40 hours a week thing. I work most days 8:30 to 5:30 but Tuesday nights are 11 to 8. Kyle has the same schedule except that his nights are Mondays. We both have to work every other weekend and we're trying to get it worked out so that we'll have the same Saturdays off.

Overall I like my job pretty well. The people seem to be warming up to me and the kids are great. It's often really slow and the first week or two it was pretty boring because I didn't have other things to be working on. Now however I'm trying to plan for story times and for this cultural craft program I'm doing over the summer. So I keep busy even when there aren't patrons in the children's room.

My supervisor is a little stand-offish about giving me feedback on my performance which could be good or bad, we'll see in a couple days when she does my one month evaluation. She doesn't really give off a children's librarian vibe but she's nice enough when it comes to non-work chitchat.

It's been hard getting a good rhythm going here but we're getting there and we both like our jobs.
