Life Update

Hello dear friends,

First, I want to thank those of you who were able to come to the shower two weeks ago. I had a the most wonderful time, and it was so good to see all of you. For those who couldn't make it, you were definitely missed! But I know we will see each other soon! :)

My life is pretty consistent these days. I go to work, and I do homework. I am finally getting going on my Master's Project. Sometimes I am afraid that it is getting bigger than I would like it to. Never trust your advisors for that opinion; they are biased because all they do is research. I, on the other hand, would like to do the least amount of work possible to still get my degree, lol.

Spring is perhaps coming to the Twin Cities finally. Today it is supposed to be a whopping 50 degrees. I think Sean and I might get our bikes out. I can't wait to feel the wind and the sun in my face...

I was in my old neighborhood yesterday for awhile. Despite the fact that it is only a little over a mile away, I hadn't ventured there in some time. If you didn't know any better, you'd perhaps call it the "bad" neighborhood. I forgot how beautiful it is though. Not beautiful as in outwardly beautiful (run down houses, spring melt, and abandoned buildings), but the people are genuine. No fronts, no Minnesota nice, no ignoring you, just real people. It was refreshing. I sat in a newly-opened coffee shop called Pow Wow Grounds for a few hours in the Native American cultural corridor part of Franklin Ave. It was a nice place; I hope it doesn't fold like many new businesses do.

I would like to ask for your prayers, positive vibes, etc, for Sean's family and his grandpa. His grandpa is not doing so well and isn't expected to make it through the weekend. Sean is headed to Indianapolis today hoping to make it before he goes. I am going there on Monday after a presentation I have to give. Sad times.

Love and miss you all,
Lishka
