Living the Dream.

Hello from the budding metropolis of Elkhart, Indiana. Firstly, I apologize for my lack of communication. Life has a way of changing rapidly and getting lost in the flow seems natural.

I accepted a position as a Staff Attorney at a small legal non-profit organization. Primarily, I represent working class, low income individuals who are unable to afford private legal services in the practice areas of family law and immigration. Many of my clients are genuine people working toward a better life for their families.

Intermixed in the sleep deprivation and long intense hours of work, I have found a deep sense of fulfillment. It took four long years to be in this place. And it is nothing like what I expected and everything I didn't know I needed.

Today I listened to this story on NPR and cried in the solitude of my car. The faces of my immigrant clients flooded my mind as Sra. Arias beautifully sang the Star Spangled Banner in Spanish. Their stories are overwhelming, hopeful, and fateful, much like the America Dream that brought them here.
