It's super hot in my third floor bedroom area. My dark chocolate bar is rather soft. I should go get a fan to cool me off but I'm too lazy.
Sorry I've been so bad at posting lately. My volunteer program is wrapping up, and it just seems like things are moving so fast! Last Friday was my last day of work. It was a bit weird. It still is. I don't think I know what to feel, because in some ways I'm happy about it, and in other ways I'm sad. I'm ready to move on to doing something new, as some of my actual work was starting to get boring. I'm also really excited for Texas and grad school life ahead. But it was also sad because I really enjoyed working with the people there and had finally a few months ago started to feel really comfortable. I will definitely miss them. And working with the kids.
Speaking of the kids, Miguel and I took them to the zoo last Thursday on the last day of the after-school program. It was a lot of fun, although super crowded. I think they enjoyed it though.
As I'm sure many of you know that it is a hard task getting kids to smile for a picture, lol!
This coming week the women in my program and I are helping run a social justice camp for high school students called Power Summit. It should be interesting. Then on Friday we leave for nearly a week of retreat...time seems to be flying by. Sometimes I get overwhelmed about all the things that I have to do coming up.
In some exciting news, I'm getting a new phone! And my parents are adding unlimited texting to our plan. So if you also have unlimited texting, please inform me of this, and we can exchange messages more frequently, especially cause my internet access once I go to Texas on July 2nd will be uncertain. :)
Miss you and love you all!
