I'm being lazy at work and posting here rather than being productive...
After one month in Chicago, things are starting to settle and become routine, which is good. Our maintenence finally hung our curtains yesterday, so my roommate and I decided that our apartment is finally officially put together. Its quite pretty :) Adjusting to my new life has been pretty easy, but I've never been the type to have a hard time leaving home. My roommate's transition has been a bit tougher though. She loves Chicago too, but she's a lot less independent than I am so that makes things a lot harder for her. And yesterday she went out to her car and saw that someone had tore off her bumper. This is why I don't have a car here and why I don't recomend it. Unless you can afford garage parking, which is what my roommate now has. My time here so far is proof that I am a city girl. I really belong here.
I don't know who here knows what has been going on career wise for me lately...I had to quit forever 21 to move here because they couldn't transfer me. I did reapply, but they didn't follow up with me and I didn't follow up with them. I got a job at macy's my first week here. After the two days of training I was feeling quite unsure that it was going to be a good job. My first day I was so miserable that I was in tears while working. I had a career crisis that night and realized I hate retail and don't really want to do it. So I called the next day and resigned. It is kind of a joke that with the experience and training I have, the only job I could get hired for was an 8 dollars an hour sales job. That's life I guess. So I started looking at administrative jobs, and found what I am currently doing. I work for Highlife Adventures, which is a singles club. I am an event coordinator and event leader. It's a pretty cool job and I like it so far. I am not ready to give up on fashion, but this opportunity came along and it was too good to pass up. So we'll see where I can go from here.
What else is new? Making lots of new friends here in the city. My new favorite phrase is "epic fail." I use it alot. I have a blackberry now. Best phone ever and I don't know how I ever lived without it. My new favorite food is marshmallow fluff, thanks to my roommate. I incorporate it into many of my meals. Sound disgusting? Well maybe a little. Amy (my roommate) is great. She's been a pretty good friend for a while now. I had a date a few weeks ago with the boy I met on the street. It was my first boy that I've actually gone on a date with and not just hooked up with since tyler, so I suppose thats a milestone. He's nice, I like him. But we haven't hung out since that night, so it's not really going anywhere. He's the boy my status refers to, because my friend chris jokes that he think's dan's job is fake because he was very vauge about it. I think Chris might like me. I'm not attracted to him though, so hopefully he gets that we are just friends. We shall see.
I could probably say more, but I think that is enough for now. Call me. Or text me as I text alllll the time. Or come visit. I'll show you the sites. (but nothing too touristy)
I love the phrase "epic fail" too! I use it quite often...just wanted to let you know :)

What the heck is "marshmallow fluff?" Is it one of those jello salads?
