Happy New Year!

Hello my lovelies,

Happy New Year to you and yours! 2011 was pretty darn good to me. Hopefully 2012 will be just as good. Although it didn't start out to well, since Sean spent most of the day miserable on the couch with what I believe is food poisoning. Luckily I didn't eat whatever it was, or I have a stomach of steel.

I start my new job tomorrow (eeek!). I'm kinda nervous, even though I know exactly what the atmosphere will be like. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things quickly, without becoming too depending on coffee. Tried to wake up at a decent hour without the bean this morning. It didn't go too well...I gave in.

Master's project is 3/4ths of the way done. I am so excited to get it finished, although gathering up the energy to work on it today will be rough after like 10 days of vacation. I don't think I've ever worked so hard on anything in my life, or wanted an experience to be over so badly. If you decide to go to grad school, make sure you pick a master's program that doesn't involve a final thesis and defense. I should get a PhD for this, dammit.

Winter has finally made its way to Minnesota, although I don't know how long this few inches of snow will stick around. I've been grateful that I haven't been freezing my ass off wherever I go. I'm astonished that I haven't yet worn my underarmor or wool socks. We're almost at about what usually is the coldest week of winter here, and it hasn't even dropped below zero yet. While that has been nice in many ways, it kinda totally freaks me out about this global warming ordeal.

So that's what is new with me really. Christmas break was really nice. We were able to hit up the Fort and Indianapolis for a few days. Then the long drive back through northern Wisconsin with a stop in Eau Claire for the wedding of one of Sean's high school friends. It was a great time. Totally open bar, and the reception was at the hotel where we were staying, so you know it was a good party.

Hope this year brings you lots of happiness and fulfillment! I assume part of that means that we must see each other more often. :)

Love always,
Lishka
