Exciting news that's been a long time coming!!

I am super excited right now and so thankful! I interviewed for a couple of teaching positions back in May at a catholic school in Garrett- St. Joseph. I didn't hear from them for a while so figured that they had been filled. In the middle of June I heard from the principal and said there had been some changes and they were still holding onto my resume, with interest in me. I sent her an email right before we left for vaca and she told me they were waiting for the next board meeting before continuing with hiring. Last week I got a call asking her to meet me today (Sat, July 21) with telling me no reason. I had to assume it being a good thing and it WAS!! It's pretty much a done deal (need to check with pastor to ok my employment)...I am going to be teaching Kindergarten!! I have been patiently waiting, praying and hoping. I am thrilled to be teaching a small age level and at a catholic school. I didn't mention the interview to anyone, except to Andrea when we went to Kate's baby shower because I wasn't sure how it was going to go.
Here are the details I know right now:
- staff starts aug 20 and the students come that wed
-the drive is about 50 minutes, which i'm not crazy about but will be happy to do so with a full time job
-right now I have 15 students and have been told that they are good group
-I believe I will have a part time aide
-I think I will be doing guided reading groups and the school is working on implementing project based learning in K (for all educator friends, if you have knowledge on PBL, please share. My principal gave me a book on it as I have limited knowledge on it)

I think that is all I know for now. I will keep you posted. I need to tell my boss about this, so I appreciate no one mentioning it on facebook until I do. Thank you God!!!

Love, Elyssa
