Sunshine and ponies

Well dport, I think your wish to send the ponies and such things my way has worked, because I have had quite a lovely week.

The photo is of the Mighty Mississippi, and please note that it is now unfrozen. :)

Xavier is in the Sweet Sixteen, rock on! Although I am disappointed that I won't be able to watch the game this Thursday because I have a community dinner. Boo for that.

On a happier note, I will be in town over Easter! So mark it in your calendars because if you will also be in Fort Wayne, we must hang out. I'll be home April 9th-12th, and I insist upon at least a gathering at the newly remodeled Grind. I am sad to hear that the wowzer trees are gone, but at least it is still open for business.

Court and I had a lovely visit. The weather cooperated with us very much, so I took her on mini-tours of the exciting parts of Minneapolis, including the coffee shop scene, the U, Loring Park (including the currently cherry-less Spoon sculpture), downtown, Lake Nokomis, and Minnehaha Falls. If anyone else wants to come visit, I promise an equally fun and thrilling experience. :)

Thursday was the feast of St. Joseph, so I hung out with nuns all day, since I work for the Sisters of St. Joseph. It was pretty cool learning more about the history and ministry of the nuns, plus celebrating Mass with them. I actually played my violin for it, something that I got roped into, but it turned out well, even if the nun playing with me was really intense. She said I played well though, which made me happy since I hadn't touched that instrument since, oh, November.

Yesterday I went on a 13 mile bike ride, and it was fantastic. I'm glad that the outdoors are cooperating with me once more so that I can rediscover my freedom via biking.

Tomorrow is an Accepted Student Visit Day at the U's School of Public Health. I'm excited, and kind of nervous. Hopefully the will have lots of useful information for me.

Miss you all! Peace and love!
