First thank you all for the encouragement and for keeping your fingers (and toes) crossed and keeping me in your prayers and everything.
Both Kyle's & my interview went really well (apparently). We are apparently front runners for these positions. I'm not as much as Kyle but I think I can really blow them away with an awesome story time.
So our awesomeness means that we will be flying back to Indiana for approximately 1 day. We're leaving Portland on Sunday the 13th, flying into Indianapolis. But we won't get there until 11 PM. We'll then drive to Evansville and sleep at Kyle's mom's. We both have interviews the following morning at 10 AM at our respective branches. At mine I have to lead a 20 to 30 minute story time in front of real children (hooray!) and then have an interview. After both of our interviews we have to go downtown to the Central branch and talk with the head of HR about what it will mean if we both get hired (basically the talk about their regulations regarding relatives working for the same library system, no one seems to understand that we're not married).
Anyway, we then fly out from Indianapolis on Tuesday afternoon. So basically the shortest cross-country travel ever. But we wouldn't be doing it if we didn't think we had really good chances of getting these jobs. I'm especially nervous because apparently there are 2 other strong candidates for the job I'm applying for, and I'm only the top pick by just a little. So my story time has to rock all those little kids socks right off.
Keep your fingers crossed and I'll keep you posted.
much love,
Court
Fingers are crossed! Go get 'em, tiger! ;)
