Wedding Planning

Hello lovelies,

Well, wedding planning is slow going here.

We have set a date -- so, clear your calendars for October 12, 2013.

Now we haven't found a venue or made any solid plans yet, but October 2013 is 16 months away. We have plenty of time.

We are planning on having the wedding in Bloomington, so hopefully we'll be able to go up and see some venues in August once Summer Reading is over for me.

So I wanted all your opinions on my thoughts on my wedding.

This is my pinterest board for wedding ideas -- http://pinterest.com/greenish/wedding/

I've had lots of thoughts mostly about mismatched bridesmaid dresses and paper flowers (or maybe a brooch bouquet) and wanting to look at dresses, but you are all so far away.

So opinions needed.

I love you all!

  1. Tis on the calendar! Yay!

I wish you were closer too. I am excited about your green, hippie wedding. Helping you plan a green, hippie wedding sounds like fun! I'm going to have to do my best from far away. :(

But this means I am finally going to join pintrest! I was making myself hold off until my master's project was finished, and well, it's finished!

A quick peek at you board and I saw that cake with a bird on it. Made me thing of this hilarious clip from Portlandia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XM3vWJmpfo

I assume you've seen Portlandia? Either way, birds on the cake would be an excellent symbol for your time spent in Portland. :)

  2. Also my friend who got married this past fall had a genius guestbook idea that I wish I could have stolen. It was a picture of a tree, and you made a thumbprint with green ink for the leaves and then wrote your name next to it. The now have it framed in their house. Totally cute. If you google "tree guest book" you'll find lots of examples.

  3. I have no experience wedding planning but I will give you my opinions anyway. I love the tea length Audrey dress. It's so very you and adorable yet classy. Come home so we can go wedding dress shopping!

Lish, you can never commit a crime now because your thumbprint is hanging on someone's wall. Poor planning. ;)

  4. I LOVE the mismatched bridesmaid dresses. I personally have never been a fan of identical bridesmaid dresses and I think the alternatives are cool. I love all of the dresses you pinned and think anything you choose will be quite lovely. I wish I could be there to help you try on as well :) And between the different bouquet options...I think I like paper better. But I cannot fully make up my mind.
Anyway, these are just my opinions. Whatever you do will be very nice I'm sure :)
